Is your attic unbearably hot in the summer? Do you feel as if
the second floor of you house never cools down in the summer? An attic
fan's job is to pull the hot air out of your attic, and force it outside. This,
in turn, makes the attic cooler. Pulling the hot air out of your attic will
lessen the heat on your second floor during those hot summer days. This
makes it easier and less expensive to cool your second floor. We
install through-the-roof attic fans as well as gable fans, depending on the
set-up of your attic.

equipment based on presence or absence of people. You can set your sensors to a
variety of adjustments based on time of day, lighting outside,
Adding occupancy sensors to your home can also save you energy and money by
streamlining your overall electricity usage. Sensors for lighting control are
only useful when placed appropriately and in areas that are unobtrusive. This
would exclude installing motion sensors in hallways or stairways. Some local
utility companies offer rebates when occupancy sensors are installed, then
paying for themselves in less than one year. Without rebates they still pay
for themselves within two to three years.

What is Milton Electric most noted for? Housepower! It has been our
calling card for as long as we have been in business. By our records, we have
performed over 25,000 service changes and upgrades. What does that mean? It
means nobody has more experience in doing it! If your current electrical panel
has fuses, your panel is old, or you need more power in your house due to
natural expansion, you can call on us for certified experience and reliable
service. We can provide service upgrades to 100 amperes, 150 amperes, 200
amperes, and even higher if necessary.
Does the service cable on the back of your house look worn, is the sheathing
falling off, or are the conductors showing? These are all problems that
need to be addressed. For a relatively low price, we can come to your
house and replace the cable. This will easily eliminate the dangers
that come along with a damaged service cable.
Do you have a fluorescent fixture with a magnetic ballast? Very soon all
fluorescent fixtures will require electronic ballasts. If you have a magnetic
ballast fixture and the ballast goes bad, you're options are limited. We are
currently working with the Howard County Public School System to replace all the
magnetic ballast fixtures in their school gyms with more efficient electronic
ballasts. If you are a business looking to replace your old lights, let us know.
We can replace them and will work alongside BGE to streamline the rebate process
for you. BGE is offering sizable rebates to proactive businesses who are
changing out their fixtures, therefore, making the costs minimal.
Did you know that incandescent bulbs won't be manufactured after the year
2014? What does that mean to you? It means that most of the light fixtures
in your house will not have replacement bulbs made for them after a certain
time. The wave of the future in lighting is high efficiency lighting, such as
compact fluorescent lighting, fluorescent lighting, and LED lighting. If you
want to be ahead of the curve and lower your utility costs at the same time, ask
Milton Electric about adding high efficiency lighting to your home.

Wiring & Trenching

but didn't know if you could? We have the equipment and knowledge to get it
done. If you need electricity to add light and power to any detached, outdoor
structure, Milton Electric can help.
A back-up generator is a great solution to that problem. We can design a
back-up power system for you so your entire house will have electricity,
even then the power goes out. All your neighbors will be wondering why they're
out of power and you're not. We supply Generac generators and can design a
system that will power your whole house during a power outage or just the
essential items you need until power is restored.
Are there certain rooms in your house that are always cold? A good
alternative to warm those rooms is electric baseboard heat. We can supply
baseboard heaters from two feet to ten feet to help heat any room in your house.
This is a much better looking and more permanent option than the fan forced
plug-in heaters you see in many houses.
If you don't, you may want to purchase a window air conditioning unit to keep
those certain rooms in your house cool. One problem–you just can't plug that new
window unit into the closest outlet. You will need a separate circuit to run the
new window unit properly or you will overload that circuit. We can install that
separate circuit you will need in any room in the house: 120 volts or 240 volts.
If it is central air you're interested in, we can wire your new exterior
condenser unit and help you with the installation of a entire new system through
our subsidiary company Milton Services.
Do you have aluminum wiring in your house? Most houses wired before 1980
were wired using aluminum wiring. Today, all houses must be wired with copper
wire, not aluminum, because aluminum is more brittle. Over time, the aluminum
wire connections in your outlets, switches, and light outlets have a tendency to
break apart causing what is known as an “arc”. An arc increases your risk of a
fire. Milton Electric is a certified aluminum wiring retrofitter and can offer
numerous methods to prevent any future problems that might occur.
Worried about the smoke detectors in your house? A lot of people are.
Milton Electric can make sure the smoke detectors in your house are up to code

This is one area of your home that you want to make sure is up to
EV Wiring for Electric Cars
The somewhat sporty and stylish electric cars available on the market are certainly enticing. Add to the looks of these models, the driving capability, for a cost far less than gasoline and the minimal environmental impact of driving one, and they become quite desirable. The only downfall, is that to have one, car owners are having to trade out their perfectly good car. Fortunately, there are other options that can give drivers the advantage of having an electric car, for a fraction of the cost of having to buy a new car.
